The Idakeda youth empowerment programme "Ai Bonjay! Popolito the Giant come out to Play" resumes again this term, with students in the Port of Spain area.

The highly successful project, piloted in 2009 and supported by the Ministry of Education, is based on the original stories of Eintou Pearl Springer. This unique storytelling programme is specially designed to counter the culture of violence, confrontation and preference for alien cultures currently prevalent in our school environment.

Idakeda has worked successfully with the Ministry of Education for a number of years. Our team pioneered a series of cultural interventions with students at the secondary level, where we used the original works of Ms. Springer to deal with serious social issues.

We're on the road again, working this time with the challenges of the primary school child and involving educators in the process of transformation.
