The Idakeda team returns to schools this week to continue the new phase of interventions which began this month. Students will have an opportunity to delve deeper into the Idakeda technique which uses Drama and the Culture of Trinidad and Tobago to help them understand their own life situations and make more informed choices. All of these original techniques were created by Poet Laureate, Eintou Pearl Springer, and she continues to lead the group of facilitators as she maintains a presence at the workshops.
Idakeda has been working in schools throughout Trinidad and Tobago for the past three years. This term we began working consistently with specific schools with a view to creating a more powerful and lasting impact with those students who most need alternative perspectives and approaches.
