Sesa Woruban or I Transform Myself will be mounted in December as part of a series of programmes put on by the History Teachers Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
The original play by Eintou Pearl Springer, chronicles the journey of the African from the continent to the Caribbean and explores the challenges and triumphs of the slaves as they adjust to their new lives in Trinidad and Tobago, and their eventual emancipation from enslavement.
As typical with the works of Eintou, the play is a wonderful spectacle of dance, music, song and theatre as the piece cleverly interweaves historical fact with exciting dramatisation, pathos and modern day dialogue.
