Eintou Springer sets record straight over inflammatory newspaper stories

A lecture by Idakedas Creative Force Eintou Springer was recently deliberated taken out of context by one of the daily newspapers of this country She had been speaking during one of the lectures in the Kwame Ture Lecture Series hosted by the Emancipation Support Committee of which she is Cultural Chair Many of the examples she used in her lecture were designed to call for more cultural balance in our education system and for more sensitivity towards the sociocultural needs of young people of African Heritage who come from at risk populations

Kambule the Street Pageant commemorates the 1881 riots that saved the Carnival of Trinidad and Tobago

Idakeda and executive producers the National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago will once again present the Eintou Springer scripted and directed street pageant Kambule on Carnival Friday morning The play chronicles how the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival was saved by stickfighters and members of the community during what is known as the Canboulay Riots of 1881 The portrayal is street theatre style and begins promptly at 5am on the Piccadilly Greens Port of Spain
