Stick Fighting is a type of martial arts known as Kalinda in Trinidad & Tobago. Stick Fighting. Batonaires (fighters) use simple long slender, blunt, hand-held, generally wooden ‘sticks’ for fighting; The Championships or the clash of the Bois Men (fighters) are held annually during the Carnival period. Two bois men face off in a Gayelle (ring) to the rousing song of Chantwellss (singers/call and response lavway) and pulsating drummers who whip the crowd into a frenzy.  See more at:
