Dara Healy is awarded the Felix Harrington Prize for Dance

Dara Healy has been awarded the 2011 Felix Harrington Prize for being the Best Student in the UWI Certificate in Dance and Dance Education The prize is awarded by the Faculty of Humanities and Education while the dance programme is run by the Centre for Creative and Festival Arts in St Augustine

Dara Healy has been awarded the 2011 Felix Harrington Prize for being the Best Student in the UWI Certificate in Dance and Dance Education. The prize is awarded by the Faculty of Humanities and Education, while the dance programme is run by the Centre for Creative and Festival Arts in St. Augustine.

Dara uses her skill and passion for dance to enhance the pioneering intervention work being by Idakeda with ‘At Risk' communities and youth, in both urban and rural environments. She has successfully used Dance and Movement Therapy techniques with troubled young women, with young men and even when working with staff in a corporate setting.

She has performed regionally and internationally and recently choreographed the Movement and Dance for the Eintou Springer play ‘How Anansi Bring the Drum' presented in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago National Commission for UNESCO.
