Eintou Springer and Willie Chen were the only two representatives from the English speaking Caribbean at the recently concluded First Global forum for writers of African, Indigenous and Sino Indian descendants. Eintou presented a paper and conducted a workshop with Costa Rican children of primary school age.

The forum, which was held at The University of Costa Rica, also featured prominent writers from areas such as the Spanish speaking Caribbean and Latin America. The conference was held partly in recognition of the year 2011 being declared the Year of People of African descent by the United Nations.

As part of her contribution to this United Nations commemoration, Eintou has shared her poetry and thoughts on the African in the diaspora at a number of important international gatherings. These include a Drum Festival in Mexico, a celebration of the African Woman in Antigua, a conference on the Art and Practice of Storytelling in Martinique and a World Poetry Conference in Venezuela.
