The Casa Nacional de las Letras Andrés Bello, has included former Poet Laureate of Port of Spain Eintou Pearl Springer in its World Poetry Festival taking place in Caracas, June 12-18, 2011.
The Festival will take place at the Teresa Carreño Theater and The Center of Latin America Studies Rómulo Gallegos (CELARG) and will feature poets and artists from Latin America, the Caribbean and across the world.
The Poetry Festival is being held as part of the Bicentennial Celebration of the emancipation of Venezuela from Spanish rule, a historical fact which gives special importance to the gathering.
According to ‘Casa Nacional' President Luis Alberto Crespo, "poets, since ancient times, reestablish with their voices and their ancestral solidarity the intensely longed for common harmony of the individual and planetary man."
Eintou will share her poetry at a number of venues during the Festival including the Simón Rodríguez University, the Teresa Carreño Theatre and the Andrés Bello Secondary School.
