Eintou Springers Kambule not on Piccadilly Greens in 2011

In response to numerous local and international enquiries we would like to let the national community know that the Eintou Springer play Kambule will not be presented as part of the National Carnival Commissions NCC offerings for Carnival this year

In response to numerous local and international enquiries, we would like to let the national community know that the Eintou Springer play ‘Kambule' will not be presented as part of the National Carnival Commission's (NCC) offerings for Carnival this year.

The play has been performed over the past five years to increasing local and international success, starting first on Duke Street and then moving to Piccadilly Greens because of growing crowds. In 2010, the play was performed for the first time in San Fernando.

We thank the NCC for the opportunity to showcase Ms. Springers work, allowing us to share the history of Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival with the world.

We are also grateful to all of the artists, performers and technical workers who have supported us in this venture over the years and who have been waiting anxiously to hear some final word. We are asking that fellow artistes respect the copyright of Ms. Springer by refraining from using any of the words or chants created by her in the play – except with special permission to do so.

All queries regarding what will be performed on Carnival Friday morning may be directed to the NCC.

A Happy and Safe Carnival to all!
