Eintou honours HIV AIDS survivors in poetry

Eintou Pearl Springer former Poet Laureate of Port of Spain will honour those persons who live with HIV AIDS and those who have succumbed to the virus with her poetry this Thursday evening at a special function hosted by the National Aids Coordinating Committee NACC

Eintou Pearl Springer, former Poet Laureate of Port of Spain, will honour those persons who live with HIV AIDS and those who have succumbed to the virus with her poetry this Thursday evening at a special function hosted by the National Aids Coordinating Committee (NACC).  The event entitled ‘Life Goes On' takes place from 5pm on the Brian Lara Promenade.

The Port of Spain event is one of several activities taking place around the world as part of the ‘Many Lights for Human Rights' commemoration spearheaded by the international organisation, the Aids Action Council. In 2010 the Council celebrates its 27th International Candlelight Memorial, so called because participants light candles and walk together in a symbolic show of respect for the departed.

The NACC will follow this pattern, with a symbolic walk along the Promenade after the official function and performances.
