Caribbeana workshops for NALIS staff continue

February begins with a second installment in the Caribbeana workshops for the senior staff of the National Library (NALIS). A very successful training session in 2009 saw Eintou Pearl Springer, Idakeda's lead Education Consultant and Creative Force, developing an informative and enlightening two-day workshop designed to introduce the staff to the world of Caribbean History and Literature. This initial session also contained a very animated Customer Service component conducted by Dara E. Healy, which served to fine-tune already learnt skills and introduce new concepts to the staff.

The 2010 workshop will further explore the Caribbeana collection and its importance to education and national empowerment, include practical training in the Trinidad and Tobago collection and provide the staff with practical skills for disseminating information about sharing the wealth of available material with members of the public.
