Teacher Intervention well received

We have been asking for this kind of intervention for years now so we are extremely happy that it has finally taken place so says one of the teachers who experienced an Idakeda intervention on Friday 16th

'We have been asking for this kind of intervention for years now, so we are extremely happy that it has finally taken place', so says one of the teachers who experienced an Idakeda intervention on Friday 16th. The intervention, created and designed by the Idakeda team led by Creative Force Eintou Pearl Springer, was meant to achieve three main objectives:

  1. Begin the process of 'closing the circle of communication' between students, parents and teachers
  2. Use drama and culture to emphasise to teachers the very intense challenges currently being faced by students; generate empathy and understanding amongst the teaching staff and
  3. Provide solutions and practical skills to teachers to help them in classroom situations

This was the first intervention being done entirely under the Idakeda brand (other interventions were done on behalf the Ministry of Education) so the members of Idakeda were pleased and very encouraged by the response of the teachers to the interaction and the techniques.

We will continue to work with this target group as this intervention has brought home once again that our teaching fraternity is in dire need of alternative approaches to managing both the students and their own challenges as educators.

Continue to walk with us on this journey …
