Idakeda workshops off to good start

The new cycle of Idakeda workshops started on a high note last week, as the team conducted interventions at schools in North and South Trinidad.

The workshops featured the play used for student interventions "Baby Doll Meets Midnight Robber", with Kemi Phillip in the title role, Hasely Benjamin as the Midnight Robber and Christopher Sheppard as the Devil. Attillah Springer, Idakeda Director facilitated the interactions with the students.

The teachers who observed the interventions were very impressed by the Idakeda 'Theatre in Education' techniques and expressed their desire to continue working with us to deepen the experience for the students. The young people continue to be very receptive, as they were fully involved with the action on stage and were very vocal during the discussion period.

We are very excited about the coming weeks as we continue to work with these schools, using Theatre, Music and Literacy to impact lives and close the gaps within the circle of communication between parents, students and their teachers.

Stay with us on our journey …
