Idakeda team develops sustained programmes for schools
The Idakeda team of facilitators, actors and actresses will work with young people, parents and teachers from specific schools on a long term basis from September 2008. The Theatre in Education and Popular Theatre methodologies studied and honed by Creative Force, Eintou Pearl Springer have been developed into easy to use and understand modules, all geared towards clearly identified outcomes.
This new approach is designed to further empower teachers to cope in the classroom, to help parents relate better with their teens and encourage young people to make 'Right Choices'.
Idakeda has been working with young people throughout the school population of Trinidad and Tobago for the past three years; in addition, we have successfully used our techniques with young people, educators and parents in various environments throughout the Caribbean, the United States, Canada and the UK. In 2008, our interventions were extended to parents and teachers in an effort to reach everyone in the circle comprising family, young people within the education system and educators.
