Profile of Chibale The Chibale (pronounced chee bah leh ) Drumming Ensemble or Chibale is the drumming group comprising Ajani Healy (11yrs old), Shomari Healy (11yrs old), Kayode Charles(8yrs old) and Chantwelle Shanya Springer (12yrs old). Chibale is an Egyptian word meaning ‘Kinship' or ‘Brotherhood'. In 2010 they were joined by Ire (3yrs old). Chibale was formed in 2006. The group received its initial training from Master Drummer Gerald Hector, who now runs his own successful Drumming and Empowerment programme in the United States. The group has since been taught by trained by Master Drummers ‘Redman' and Xavier Phillip, leader of the drumming arm of the multi-award winning Malick Folk Performing Company and head of his own group Wasafoli. Chibale has performed for Emancipation at celebrations hosted by the Emancipation Support Committee (ESC) and other institutions such as the National Library and Information System (NALIS). They have thrilled visiting dignitaries such internationally renowned Cuban Scholar Carlos Moore at the Blue Edition event - ‘Convois', they performed before a filled Central Bank Auditorium for Master Artist and Poet, Chief Abiodon, Leroy Clarke and for a capacity crowd at the Santa Rosa Square in Arima for Amerindian Heritage Celebrations. Chibale performs every year at the Kwaanza celebrations hosted by the Kambon family and have performed with the famed Molombo Drummers at National Stickfight events. Chibale is managed by Dara E. Healy, and are all the grand-children of national cultural icon Eintou Pearl Springer. Chibale Performances 2006-2010 Private (solo and group) performances for family, friends and school events

March 2009 - Performance for internationally renowned Cuban scholar Dr. Carlos Moore on the occasion of the launch of his latest book. - Audience included other foreign-based dignitaries, artists and local members of the academic, literary and Orisha community .
February 2009 Part of the drumming contingent for the 2009 street production of Canboulay, Piccadilly Greens, Port of Spain.
