This collection of some thirty years of work by Eintou Pearl Springer lays bare her life, emotions and experiences.

The Poet Laureate of Port of Spain 2002-2009 is inspired by the people who have influenced her massive life – from former Grenada Prime Minister Maurice Bishop to CLR James, from George Lamming to Errol Jones, Cheryl Byron to David Rudder and Andre Tanker, from Leroy Clarke to Khafra Kambon, from Baba Sam Phills to Miles Davis…

It is a complicated and sensitive rendition that honours her mother Ida, and cries out her concern for women, for young people and for love.

She writes from her pain, her loss and her never-ending belief in the human spirit.

"If emancipation means finally the freeing of the mind from mental enslavement, then poetry in its spoken work, cultural manifestation must be similarly positioned. Here is a poet who has recognised and thereby effected these mandates". Professor Carole Boyce Davies

Eintou has performed her poetry all over the world, thrilling audiences and inspiring people from all life circumstances to transform their behaviour and their lives.
