Ai Bonjay workshops finish in the Gayelle

The ‘Ai Bonjay' storytelling initiative ended on a high note this term as students got a chance to experience what it is like to be part of the stickfighting experience in a Gayelle!

As part of the learning experience, villages were selected, fighters nominated and everyone in the classroom assigned important community roles.

Cries of ‘Bois' and ‘Pouis, Pouis' resounded throughout school halls as the students became fully involved in the exercise – learning the important terms, rules and understanding about team work and fair-play…

At Idakeda we continue to be very humbled by the way the children have embraced us and we are grateful that they continue to receive value from what we have to teach them. We are also very excited that some teachers have already begun to implement the techniques in their classrooms, and successfully so!

We extend our deepest appreciation for the support of the Ministry staff who continue to believe in us and look forward to more wonderful sessions in the coming term.
