Ai Bonjay Storytelling initiative resumes

Ai Bonjay Popolito the Giant Come out to Play the latest youth oriented initiative from the Idakeda repertoire continues in schools this week

"Ai Bonjay! Popolito the Giant Come out to Play" the latest youth-oriented initiative from the Idakeda repertoire continues in schools this week.

The programme is specially designed to counter the culture of violence, confrontation and preference for alien cultures currently prevalent in our school environment. ‘Ai Bonjay' based on the original stories of Eintou Pearl Springer, is designed to achieve very specific grounding for children aged 7-11years old in the culture and history of Trinidad and Tobago.

Recent discussions with the Principals of participating schools reveal complete satisfaction with the Idakeda initiative. In fact, teachers have now requested a series of workshops with the Idakeda team to help them better understand and implement our techniques in live classroom scenarios.

Apart from the storytelling workshops, students can look forward to a full production at the end of this term showcasing the stories, poetry, dance and drama learnt throughout the programme.
