The training took place during a week-long workshop series organized by Grupo Capoeira Senzala, a Capoeira training institute managed and directed by Professor Leon Carmichael of Trinidad and Tobago. Ajani, Shomari and Kayode are all members of the Senzala Institute.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form, combining martial arts, music and dance. It is known internationally as ‘the fight-dance' and has gained prominence through films, comic books and video games.
