Eintou Pearl Springer will be the lead Idakeda consultant for a training workshop in Caribbeana later this month. The workshop which runs for two days, targets library staff who interface with members of the public looking for information on various aspects of Caribbean History, Literature and Culture. The course content is researched and created entirely by Eintou who has pioneered a number of innovations in the Information and Library discipline in Trinidad and Tobago.

Ms. Springer, a librarian for over forty years, conceptualised and headed the National Heritage Library of Trinidad and Tobago, she introduced local cultural forms into traditional library practice and has trained dozens of library staff over the years to better understand the collections they manage.

Additionally, Eintou devised and taught the curriculum in Caribbeana now in use at tertiary education institution COSTATT. She has written extensively and presented several of her papers at international Information and Library fora. Ms. Springer holds a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) in Library Science from City University, London and the professional degree, an A.L.A from the Library Association of Great Britain. Eintou comes to Caribbeana not only as a librarian, but as a writer and researcher.

Dara E. Healy, Marketing and Communications consultant at Idakeda will provide the Customer Service element of the training, an essential component for front line staff.

The course promises to provide a wealth of tangible information and practical work and we look forward to sharing our knowledge with the staff.
