The students and teachers of the San Fernando East School requested an intervention from Idakeda in June as part of their programme to address specific issues amongst the student body. The experience was both disturbing and healing, as the Idakeda team worked with the group of young people to convey important messages and encourage behavioural change.

Eintou Springer, Idakeda's Creative Force, served as the main facilitator for the session, supported by Dara Healy who performed two of the 'Baby Doll' monologues. The young people also received a special surprise when Dara Healy gave them an impromptu dance class, complete with a warm up and final choreographed piece.

Soibhan George the teacher who made it all possible committed to rededicating herself to the students and to continuing the cultural interventions to help them overcome their challenges.

Idakeda is proud and privileged to have been able to work with this group of young people and looks forward to continuing working with them.
