"So you with your shining eyes, yes, I expect you to change the world … Who will stand up to negativity, dishonesty and to every attempt to wrest that power of your personhood from you – whether it is politician … popular media or an abusive relationship …"
Eintou Pearl Springer, former Poet Laureate of Port of Spain, will use her poetic skills to inspire another group of young people this week as she delivers the feature address at the graduation of the Bishop Anstey East High School. In her wide ranging address she will tackle the very sensitive but relevant issues of popular culture, technology and the potential dangers to our youth population from unbridled exposure to these.
Ms. Springer has worked closely with young people for over thirty years, inspiring and pushing them to challenge preconceived notions of identity, society and personal responsibility. From the Junior Best Village, to empowering through Storytelling, to the development of the 'Baby Doll Intervention Technique' – Eintou continues to inspire young people to set standards of excellence for themselves and those around them.
Stay with us on our journey …
