The poetry of Eintou Pearl Springer featured in a colouring book for children provided the inspiration for 'Colour Me' the band which copped the Chaguanas Band of the Year title this year. The poems focus on the Traditional Carnival Characters of Trinidad and Tobago such as the Bat, Baby Doll and the Jab Jab as well as iconic figures in Trinidad and Tobago culture such as the Moko Jumbie, Soumayree, the Fancy Sailor and the Stickman.

The popular book which features illustrations by Marlon Griffith and Natasha Marcano, was produced by the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and Gender Affairs, the National Carnival Commission and the Regional Carnival Committee.

Eintou already has another book of children's poems to her credit, 'God Child', inspired by the song by T&T culture legend Andre Tanker.

Look out for a new publication of God Child later this year and for more works from the Creative Force of Idakeda!
