Idakeda pays tribute to Zen Dionne Jarrette

A beautiful spirit called Zen passed away recently. Many of the photos that you enjoy on our site came from her and so we pay tribute to her in this space.

We first connected with Zen after she came to the 2007 production of Sesa Woruban – "I Transform My Life" which opened the Emancipation Village and the launch of the national Emancipation celebrations.  We asked her for some of her images to place on the site and she graciously agreed. 

Our relationship with her grew as she supported our Culture in Education efforts and we began to build a personal friendship with her. 

We will miss her positive energy and gentle spirit but are grateful to have known her, even for a short time.
