The Idakeda Group uses Traditional Carnival Characters for schools Intervention Programme

Baby Doll Meets Midnight Robber a production based on an original script by author cultural activist and award winning actress Eintou Pearl Springer

"Baby Doll Meets Midnight Robber", a production based on an original script by author, cultural activist and award winning actress Eintou Pearl Springer, deals with the behavioural challenges facing our young people, during the Carnival period and also all year round. The performance, which lasts about forty-five (45) minutes, will be followed by a discussion session facilitated by Ms. Springer and with the involvement of the other actors. This interaction is a critical component of our intervention strategy, as our essential purpose behind this production is to begin the process of healing and arrive at viable solutions.

“Baby Doll” comes under the aegis of a special programme entitled ‘Peace Promotion Programme’ spearheaded by the School’s Intervention Unit of the Ministry of Education and coordinated by Dr. Michael Alleyne (622-0536).
