IDAKEDA IN THE COMMUNITY
The IDAKEDA Group is in the process of another successful community intervention through its work with one of the local Afro Brazilian Martial Arts groups, Grupo Capoeira Senzala Trinidad and Tobago.
The group successfully staged a demonstration and exhibition of their skill and talent at the Long Circular Mall on August 12th. The crowds who witnessed the display were very impressed with their talent and this led to a great number of enquiries about and training in the art of Capoeira.
The group, led by fully certified instructor Leon Carmichael, has been working with the young people of East Port of Spain for the past ten years. They have successfully represented Trinidad and Tobago at a number of international tournaments and are well respected by the local and international Martial Arts fraternity.
